That Time of the Month

Freaking out over weighing during “that time of the month.”

So it’s that time of the month and I must say that surprisingly I am feeling better than I have in months.  I typically struggle substantially with symptoms derived from that “special” time.  Cramps, pain, discomfort, mood issues.  I don’t know if it’s my new-found optimism, better nutrition or general good energy, but I am feeling GREAT!  I am however completely dreading the scale.  I am starting to psych myself out and weigh in is 4 days away!  Every time I start a plan and I have a weigh in during my “cycle” I gain weight or lose very little.  I am freaking out!!!!  “Coach, we will be discussing this soon.”  I am one of those that gains anywhere from 3-5 lbs during that time.  After doing some research I found that part of the weight gain is water retention, part of it is eating too many snacks and part of it is just bloating.  I know I will drink plenty of water, cut back on sodium and not have any snacks that are not on TSFL.  So I hope this turns out well.  I will need much support this week.  “Scale, please be nice!”  Maybe I should skip the weigh in?  I’ll keep you all posted on what I decide to do…  I need a little help with this one.

In the interim.  How should a logical person handle this.

1.) I have not cheated, so I have nothing to worry about.  If the weight doesn’t show up on the scale this week, it will show up as soon as this is over.

2.) I am going to have these every month.  I know my body and I know that on TSFL or not, I always become bloated during this time.

3.) My emotions are high because “well duh!”

4.) One week of this can’t ruin everything I have accomplished so far.  It has taken too long to get in the groove.

5.) What good does it do me to freak out?  The time of the month, comes every month!

6.) If I gained weight, it is just temporary.  I know it’s not real!

7.) What are you going to do, Quit?  That’s ridiculous!

8.) Hide the scale NOW and don’t get it out till weigh in day.  Maybe even skip till this is over?

9.) Dont focus on the weight.  Focus on how you feel.

10.) Read the note you wrote yourself.  Why are you doing this again?

Ok feel better.  Thanks Blog!

Remember.  “Make every day count!”  Even when PMS’NG
